先日、クリニックでちょっとした事件がありました。

働き者のルンバが、玄関の自動ドアを抜けて外に飛び出してしまったのです。

しばらく行方がわからず、ようやく見つけたときには電池が切れて、地面にぺたりと座り込んでいました。

まるで外の世界へ冒険に出かけ、遊び疲れて帰ってきた子どものようでした。

ここからは少し、お話の時間です。

町の小さな館に、黒くて丸い働き者の掃除ロボ、ルンバが住んでいました。

ルンバは毎日くるくる回り、床をきれいにしてはゴミをのみこんで働いていました。

ある日のこと、ルンバはふと思いました。

「わたしも外の世界を見てみたいな」

そう言って大きな自動ドアに挑み、センサーの光をくぐりぬけ、ついに館の外に出ました。

外でもくるくる回りながらゴミを拾いましたが、世界は広く、すぐに迷子になりそうでした。

車の音やまぶしい光に驚き、ルンバは疲れて止まってしまいました。

「おや、家はどこだっけ？」

そのとき、ちょうど知恵者どのが通りかかり、ルンバを見つけて館へ連れ帰ってくれました。

館の奥さんも探していたので、大喜び。

奥さんは言いました。

「もう迷子にならないように、名前としるしをつけておきましょうね」

こうしてルンバは「クロマル」という名をもらい、また館で元気に働くようになったのです。

めでたし、めでたし。

Not long ago, a small adventure happened at our clinic.

Our hard-working Roomba slipped through the doors and ran outside!

For a while, we could not find it.

When we did, the battery was gone, and it sat on the ground like a child, tired after play.

Here is a little story.

In a small clinic, there lived a round, black Roomba named Kuro-maru.

Every day it spun around, cleaning the floors and swallowing dust.

One day it thought,

“I want to see the world outside.”

So it challenged the big doors, passed the sensor light, and rolled into the open air.

Outside, it kept spinning and cleaning, but the world was too wide.

Soon it heard cars, saw bright lights, and became afraid.

“Oh no, where is my home?”

It grew tired and stopped.

Just then, the wise man walked by, noticed the Roomba, and carried it back.

The lady of the clinic had been looking for it and was so happy.

She said,

“You must not get lost again. I will give you a name and a mark.”

And so the Roomba became Kuro-maru, and once more worked happily in the clinic.
