今日は「待合室の椅子」についてご紹介いたします。

本来であれば8月の初めに届く予定でしたが、ロシアで起きた津波の影響により、到着は少し遅れてしまいました。
椅子の到着を心待ちにしながら、やきもきする日々を過ごしましたが、ようやく無事に届いたときには大変嬉しく思いました。

ここからは少し、お話の時間です。

町の小さな館に、色とりどりの椅子たちがやってきました。

非感染の待合室には、濃いオレンジの椅子と浅いピンクの椅子が並びました。
濃いオレンジの椅子は言いました。
「私は、検診やワクチンに来た子どもたちを、しっかり元気づけよう」
すると浅いピンクの椅子がにっこり笑って、
「私は、少し緊張している子を、やさしく包んであげよう」と答えました。

一方、感染の待合室には、浅いオレンジの椅子と緑の椅子が並びました。
浅いオレンジの椅子は言いました。
「私は、熱でぐったりしている子を、そっと休ませてあげたい」
すると緑の椅子がうなずいて、
「私は、木かげのように涼やかにして、元気になれるように守ってあげよう」と言いました。

こうして椅子たちは、それぞれの待合室で力を合わせ、子どもたちとご家族を迎えることになったのです。

Our Waiting Room Chairs

Today I want to tell you about the chairs in our waiting rooms.

They were supposed to arrive in early August, but the delivery was delayed because of the tsunami in Russia.
We waited with worry, and were so happy when they finally came.

Here is a little story.
🌸🌸🌸

In our small clinic, colorful chairs took their places.

In the well-child waiting area, the dark orange chair said,
“I will give strength to the kids who come for checkups and shots.”
The light pink chair smiled,
“I will hold the little ones who feel nervous.”

In the sick-child waiting area, the light orange chair said,
“I will let tired children rest.”
And the green chair whispered,
“I will be like cool shade, helping them feel safe.”

And so, the chairs began their work—waiting quietly, ready to welcome families.
